In this 2-hour live virtual workshop, participants will learn about the most common medical issues we see in insectivorous bats as well as considerations for treatment. This course is approved by the Texas Dept. of State Health Services and NACA for 2 CE hours for Texas Animal Control officers, and by Texas Parks and Wildlife for 2 CE hours for wildlife rehabilitators, . The $29 course fee includes the live virtual workshop, participant guide, and additional resource materials.
Bats admitted into care for rehabilitation often present with a variety of medical issues that are not readily apparent. While fractures can usually be easily spotted, other conditions such as bacterial infections, pneumonia, and skin conditions may not surface until hours, or even days or weeks, after admission. In this course, we will explore some of the more common conditions, including diagnostic procedures and general guidelines for treatment.
Diagnosis and treatment of these conditions may be difficult and require consultation with your attending veterinarian.
